The Vestale
Every year, for over 50 years, international firms have gathered in the famous Bay of Cannes for one of the most prestigious Pyrotechnic Art Festivals in the world.
Once again this summer, 6 firms will present carefully crafted pyro-musical shows with the sole aim of winning the coveted Vestale.
Over the course of 6 star-studded evenings, these masters of fireworks will combine synchronization, harmony and creativity to make the Cannes sky sparkle.
500 meters of maritime pyrotechnic facade will be made available to these 6 teams of pyrotechnicians to make the eyes of over 100,000 spectators shine each evening.
Original soundtracks composed of iconic titles to punctuate these magnificent successions of artistic explosions.
This year, Lidu’s fireworks display to close the Festival d’Art Pyrotechnique on August 24 will be out of competition. The competition will take place on July 4, 14, 22, August 7 and 15.
Special Jury Prize
Every year, the Festival d’Art Pyrotechnique de Cannes pits pyrotechnicians from all over the world against each other in the hope of winning the Vestale. After meticulous canvassing, a final, rigorous selection is made from among the many entries to choose five competitors to vie for the coveted trophy.
In addition to the originality of the chosen theme and the pieces presented, a 7-strong Jury assesses the staging itself, the quality of the musical illustration, the synchronization, the color research, the firing rate and general rhythm, and the overall artistic impression: the tableaux, the pyrotechnic design, the respect for the chosen theme.
The jury also awards the Prix du Jury to the fireworks display that stands out for its originality.
